OUDH OIL: THAILAND

The Agarwood Trail

Oudh oil is an ingredient in perfumery which is in high demand, particularly within the middle East. Derived from infected wood, the demand has had a direct impact on those protecting the trees that Oudh oil is sourced from.

Forest rangers such as Salaing Methai (pictured right) are having to protect the agarwood tree from the brink of extinction. Reece was sent on assignment by Lush Cosmetics to document sustainably grown plantation Oudh oil, and to capture the darker side of this ingredient.
